ABOUT THIS CLASS

Join facilitator Emily Levitan for a FREE Sustainable Saturday workshop and learn how to turn small fabric scraps into a charming biscornu pincushion.

“Biscornu” roughly translates from French to odd, skewed, or wonky—a fitting name for this uniquely shaped little pincushion!

This project is a great way to give new life to leftover home décor fabric, old clothing, buttons, and other small sewing scraps that might otherwise go to waste.

WHAT TO BRING

We will provide all supplies.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

During this workshop, you'll learn:

• Basic hand-sewing techniques
• How to securely add buttons to shape your pincushion
• Ways to repurpose fabric scraps and leftover sewing materials
• Creative ways to use textile waste in small sewing projects

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Emily Levitan | Workshop Facilitator

When Emily isn't doing public health research, you'll often find her knitting or sewing. Her love of making things started early—her mom taught her to knit when she was just three years old, and she's been creating ever since.
